Principal's Message

A warm welcome to Penrith Selective High School. In particular congratulations to our new students on your selection to Penrith High School and the beginning of a wonderful new phase of your education.

We are very proud of our school and its achievements over its sixty year history. We are proud of the successes of the very dedicated and talented students at our school as well as an extremely hard-working and caring staff. The academic results of the school are impressive. In the 2014 HSC nine students achieved 90% or above in 10 Units; four students achieved an ATAR of 99 or above; every student who studies Mathematics Extension 2, Music and Textiles and Design achieved a Band 6 (over 90%) and there were over 300 Band 6 results.

Students have many opportunities to participate in interest groups, sports, performing arts, special projects and events and competitions. Every day students show their enthusiasm for by taking advantage of what a selective school has to offer. Students are encouraged to develop new skills in their classroom learning and in activities outside the classroom. Our focus for students is on the achievement of personal best and this is the meaning of our school motto Altiora Peto.

Student leadership is a significant part of Penrith High School. We have a large number of school leaders who are wonderful role models and ambassadors for the school. They wear their uniform with pride as they represent the school in the broader community. These leaders raise funds for charities, work as community volunteers and assist in maintaining a strong school spirit. Penrith High School's strength comes from its students' commitment to achieving their own goals, working well together and looking after each other. Our leaders play a vital role in this process.

Please feel free to contact the school at any time for more information.
