Year 7 Enrolment

All Year 7 enrolments are managed by the Selective Schools Unit, NSW Department of Education. In October each year, application forms for the selective high schools test are available from government primary schools and from the Selective Schools Unit for Year 5 students and are due to be returned in November of that year.

Applicants from government primary schools are able to apply by completing an online application on the Internet. This is now the preferred method. However, for parents without Internet access the commercially printed version of the application form will still be available in reduced numbers. The online application will be open from middle/end October, 2014 on The commercially printed application will be available to parents from 14th October, 2014. Parents are required to return applications by 17th November, 2014, and therefore the timeline for application will remain approximately the same as previous years.

The test is held in March each year for Year 6 students and families are notified of the results towards the end of Term 2. All enquiries should be directed to:

All enquiries regarding entry to Year 7 at NSW academic selective high schools, including Penrith High School, should be directed to the Selective High School Placement Unit (phone 1300 880 367).

Current Year 5 students will need to apply from 14th October - 17th November 2014 to sit the selective schools test, which will be scheduled for Year 6 students during March, 2015.

All Year 7 placements are managed by the NSW Department of Education's Selective Schools Unit.
